I was quite pleased when I renamed my Royal Scot to an engine that was recorded passing through Macclesfield, 46131 The Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Unfortunately, I failed to realise that my chosen donor loco, 46106 Gordon Highlander, was the only one to carry BR-style smoke deflectors (after December 1952), and Graham Farish had actually gone to the trouble of getting this detail right. It wasn't long before my error was pointed out!
So in true rivet counter spirit, I sourced the correct smoke deflectors from a small trader listed on the 2mm Society website, and I'm now happy to have corrected my error.
