Wymans newsstand: renamed Metcalfe kit.
A 1960 photo in Jeuna's 'Railways of Macclesfield' (credited to British Railways) shows a newsstand hiding under the bridge at the south end of the Down platform. It was a foggy day and a gloomy corner, so I couldn't make out the name: looked like Ryman, but why the 'S'?
Luckily, I found an uncredited photo of Wymans in Birmingham New Street. I'd never heard of Wymans, but apparently they had the LNWR concession until John Menzies took over. A bit before my time, but worth including it. The unusual font proved a challenge to track down too.
Recessed into the wall, and hidden lighting, so had to build it before finishing the bridge.
